Norwegian operator orders gas powered ferry

Norwegian ferry operator FosenNamsos Sjo has ordered a gas powered passenger/car ferry from domestic west coast shipbuilder Fiskerstrand BLRT. The ferry will be able to carry 250 passengers and a maximum of 120 cars. The hull and first stage of outfitting will take place a sister yard Western Shipyard, in Klapeida, Lithuania. Delivery is set for December 2010, after which the vessel will operate in the Hordaland region of Norway.
