The adventure cruise ship M/V Ocean Nova has run aground in Antarctica's Marguerite Bay, near Argentina's San Martin research base. According to a statement from the tour operator, Quark Expeditions, the passengers and crew are safe and the captain is waiting for high tide to dislodge the vessel. It is being reported that the Argentinean navy has flown a plane over the site and confirmed the ship has not lost power and is not leaking fuel. This is at least the fifth (1, 2, 3, 4) incident of a grounding or sinking in Antarctic waters in the last two years.
