The Yemen media is reporting that the Yemen coastguard prevented pirates from hijacking a Korean cargo ship today in the Gulf of Aden, about 40 miles south of Aden, Yemen. The coastguard responded to the ship's distress call and briefly engaged the hijackers. One pirate was killed.
