Pirates off the coast of southern Somalia seized 2 chemical tankers in a 24-hour period this week. The Greek-owned and Panama-registered MT Nipayia was captured Wednesday, and the Norwegian-owned and Bahamian-registered MT Bow Asirwas taken on Thursday. Both ships were seized hundreds of miles off shore.
