NTSB Finds Fault in 2007 Corporate Jet Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued its final report last week from its investigation of the 2007 crash of a corporate jet in Sanford, Florida. The accident aircraft was a Cessna 310R and part of the fleet operated by NASCAR's corporate aviation division. According to an NTSB release, "the accident was due to (1) the NASCAR corporate aviation division's decision to allow the accident airplane to be released for flight with a known and unresolved electrical system problem, and (2) the accident pilots' decision to operate the airplane with full knowledge of the maintenance discrepancy."
