Port of Los Angeles Getting Fleet of Electric Trucks

The Port of Los Angeles will soon begin using a fleet of heavy-duty all-electric trucks to move freight containers. These vehicles are manufactured by Balqon Corp, and the first one rolled off the assembly line Tuesday (2/24) in Harbor City where Balqon agreed to move its manufacturing as part of this "green" program.
Some specifications of Balqon's E30 model:
Can haul 30 tons.
Top speed of 40 MPH.
Has a range between 30 to 60 miles per battery charge.
Recharges in 4 hours.
Can charge to 60 percent in one hour.
