Lloyd Weft to concentrate on shiprepair

German cruise ship specialist Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven is now set to concentrate on shiprepair and conversion work, and pull out of newbuilding activities has the global credit crisis impact hard on German shipyards.

Italy’s Fincantieri was to have taken a controlling interest in Lloyd Werft after acquiring 21.05% of the Bremerhaven yard in 2006, but this deal didn’t materialise. Lloyd Werft has just completed the major refit of TUI Cruises’ first vessel, Mein Schiff, the former Celebrity Galaxy. Sphere: Related Content
